After the churning of Oceans, the Amrut was ready and kept for Gods in Amrut-Kalash. The demons started demanding from Lord Shiva that they too should have a portion of it. Lord did not agree with them. After a lot of persuasion, the Lord got fed up with the demon's demand. He decided to prove it to them that they were really unworthy of having Amrut. Lord

Shiva created a huge hall with only one door and several windows. In the center of the hall, he kept some Amrut in a golden Kalash. He invited the demons there, but with one condition for entering; each was given two big long spoons with very long handles which were tied to their arm (on their biceps and forearms), in such a way that their arms could not bend. The demons started fighting between themselves as to who should go inside first. They took a spoonful of Amrut and tried to drink it, but it all spilled as they could not bend their elbows. Soon the Amrut was spilled all over near the Kalash without any one of the demons even tasting it. It was wasted. Then Lord Shiva made all the demons gather outside the hall. He then invited some Gods and the same condition was imposed on them as well. Their arms were tied straight to the big spoons. They all entered quietly in one straight line. Each one filled up their spoon and gave the amrut to their friends. Similarly they were each offered amrut by their friends. This way, everyone got Amrut from the Kalash. They were all happy. There was no wastage of even one drop of the Amrut. The demons were watching this whole process through the windows of the palatial hall. The demons realised why they were not eligible for the Amrut. Similarly, when man focuses on taking, he becomes a follower, just like the demons. When he focuses on giving then he is a leader, just like the Gods!.The work or action may be same, but it pends on our own consciousness, how we are doing it. The shift from being a follower to being a leader can be instantaneous. There is no time involved in the process.

Leadership means giving others what one wants for oneself.
